Major Dubai Property Developments
Dubai Real Estate/Property - Major Dubai Property Developments by Dubai City Guide Summer 2008
For a long time, Dubai property ownership was limited to Emirati nationals only. But, after the new property decrees were announced by the crown prince in 2001, foreigners are allowed to fully own apartments, villas, offices and complexes in Dubai. With this sudden evolvement, the demand for Dubai property increased in magnanimous proportions. So, as a post-demand necessity, construction companies around the country and even those from overseas, began developing building complexes, communities and entirely new islands in Dubai.
The Palm Islands
Jebel Ali, Jumeirah and Deira are the locations of the most famous Dubai property development project. The Jebel Ali Palm Island is mostly for commercial use, while the two in Jumeirah and Deira are mostly residential. Property prices are above $300,000. The islands have got the name from their shape, which is like a date palm tree. The projects were begun to increase the Dubai shoreline without infiltrating other boundaries beyond the emirate. Sub projects on the Palm Islands include the Palm Golden Mile, Palm Terrace, Palm Springs, The Avenue, Marina Mall and much more.
The World
It’s a cluster of 300 small islands shaped to construct the world’s different continents. The islands are divided through categorisation, which includes private homes, resorts, estate homes and communities. Similar to the Palm Islands, these are also part of the shoreline- increasing plans. Many world celebrities have already bought separate islands in The World development. Prices begin at approximately $7 million. Covering 54 square kilometres, the islands are only approachable via sea or air transport.
Emirates Living
Emirate Livings is a vast and expanding Dubai property project for creating residential communities. The Emirates Hills, The Meadows, The Springs, The Greens, The Lakes, The Views and many more communities in Dubai are all part of this project. Located within a few kilometres from Dubai’s commercial hub, Sheikh Zayed Road, Emirates Living is for those who love to live without compromises on quality, comfort and budget. Freehold villas and apartments sell for over $300,000.
Other advanced Dubai real estate development projects include Business Bay, Burj Dubai Downtown, Dubailand, Dubai Lagoon, Dubai Marina, Dubai Pearl, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Waterfront, International City, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Jumeirah Village, The Lagoon and The Summit. All of these properties are developed by leading, award-wining developers and consist of commercial cities and residential complexes.
