Dubai City Jobs
Dubai City Jobs - Career and Employment by Dubai City Guide Summer 2008
The UAE has maintained an ever-increasing pace in commercial and economic growth over the past 20 years and Dubai City is the biggest overall contributor to this. With this intense growth, the entire country faces a large influx in expatriate communities. The country’s population is divided as 80% expatriates and only 20% natives. The majority of this 80% live and work in Dubai, because there are plenty of job opportunities for the right candidates.
The many companies and organisations in Dubai City range from small businesses employing 4 or 5 individuals to massive industrial manufacturers with over 5000 employees in total. There was a time when the employers had to seek out candidates from foreign nations, but the present atmosphere is such, that there’s massive competition for various Dubai jobs among those who are already living in the city. Talent and hard work are in abundance, but the environment is highly competitive and job seekers must actively pursue their interests or face rejection.
Labour laws are stricter and more companies are hiring the best possible candidates for the most competitive remuneration packages. The once ‘come-one, come-all’ policies have being abolished and only the most suitable people are given the chance to contribute to the country’s economy. But, the city of Dubai still sees millions of job seekers arriving from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas every year. Why? Because there are thousands of vacancies and everyone will eventually find a job in Dubai.
Another major reason for the massive surge of job seekers is the generous benefits system in place in the UAE. An employee’s salary is provided tax-free and most employers include medical benefits, an accommodation allowance or arrangement and annual return air ticket to the employee’s home country. Dubai jobs offer higher salaries and improved working conditions, in turn providing a catalyst for excellent living standards for everyone. For most job seekers, jobs in Dubai represent a better lifestyle for their families, more savings and international experience beneficial in the long run.
