Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow Blended Together
Dubai City – the instant image popping up in your mind consists of massive skyscrapers, desert lands with camel caravans and oil rigs. But, Dubai City is not your stereotypical modernised city with some ancient ruins to entice tourists. In fact, Dubai City is a veritable paradise for people from all wakes of life. Whatever attracts you to this amazing world - business, tourism, property investments or jobs – you’ll see how ancient Bedouin traditions have mixed with the Islamic culture to produce amazing masterpieces, while modern technology has crept in to every aspect of daily life.
In City of Dubai, attractions take many forms. Some parts of the city are heavily urbanised, with extremely tall buildings rivaling the Manhattan skyline. The new city sections, such as Jumeirah, Jebel Ali, Sheikh Zayed Road and Bur Dubai are all about heavy glamour, glitz and international prominence. The city’s older areas, including Deira, are for quite living, with simpler architecture and more traditional style. The Dubai Creek separates the old from the new, although the distinction seems to be gradually fading off.
Dubai attractions include some famous architectural beauties, historical sights, natural scenery, modern constructions and of course, shopping.
Jumeirah Mosque is the most prominent Islamic architectural marvel in Dubai. The two minarets are the most renowned exclusive feature in this remarkable structure. Sheik Saeed’s House is another well-known Dubai attraction, because of its architecture, the artefacts that belonged to the royal family for generations and also the nighttime souq on the side.
The Bastakiya is a place to see how the ancient Bedouins lived, while the Al Fahidi Fort located inside has courtyard homes and windtowers. Another popular Dubai attraction is the Dubai Museum, which is mostly spread across an underground cavern because it was originally built as a combined palace, army base and prison structure. Other must-visit, traditionally significant places include the Dubai Gold Souq and the Spice Souq.
Some newer and more modern Dubai attractions include the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Ski Dubai, Wild Wadi Water Park, Dubai Golf Course. The Emirates Towers and Mall of The Emirates. Popular seasonal Dubai attractions include the Dubai Shopping Festival and Global Village.
